Proud to Call Poway My Home

I grew up in the Midwest and earned a degree in electrical engineering. For more than 30 years, I worked as a Professional Engineer, including 14 years at Broadcom developing embedded security for semiconductors.

Midway through my engineering career, I earned a law degree with honors from the University of Iowa, focusing on tax, estate, land use, and business law. Although I never practiced law, that education has been valuable in my work on the Poway City Council and during my years serving on my church’s finance council.

I moved to Poway in 2003 and have proudly called it home ever since. I share my home with my longtime partner and our two cats, and I have an adult stepdaughter who is working toward her business degree.

In my free time, I enjoy photography, travel, growing roses, and caring for cats—especially older or disabled ones.

Why I Want to Be YOUR Councilman

When I moved to Poway in 2003, I was focused on work, family, and everyday life. Like many residents, I trusted that the city was in good hands.

That changed when I joined Poway’s Budget Review Committee. I gained a closer look at how the city operates—and realized just how special Poway is compared with many surrounding communities.

I became one of Poway’s biggest advocates, proud of our roads, public safety, strong finances, and quality of life. That pride continues to guide me as your councilman.

My commitment is simple: I will do everything I can to keep Poway a great place to live.
